Polycarboxylate Ether (PCE) Production Cost Breakup by Copolymerization Method

Details: Germany - based plant Q1 2024  | From $ USD

This report proffers the thorough economics of Polycarboxylate Ether (PCE) production by copolymerization method. The production of polycarboxylate ether or PCE is carried out by the copolymerization of triethylene glycol monomethyl ether (TPEG) with triglycol acrylate (TGA). The process is carried out at a controlled temperature of around 60? and a stirring speed of around 800rpm. The intermediate liquid is treated with drops of methacrylate over 2 hours.

The mixture is also treated with benzoyl peroxide (BPO) and cuprous naphthalate, which is added in three equal portions at an interval of every 18 minutes. The prepared mixture is left to rest at a constant temperature for around an hour to react. The resultant liquid polycarboxylate ether undergoes the cooling slice process. It is passed into the slicer through the kneading machine discharge pipe, which results in the production of the solid polycarboxylate ether as the final product.
