Acetone or Propanone Production from Isopropanol

Acetone or Propanone Production Cost Breakup from Isopropanol
This report provides an exhaustive economics of acetone production from isopropanol (Isopropyl alcohol).
Last Updated: January, 2025
This report provides an exhaustive economics of acetone production from isopropanol (Isopropyl alcohol). This process initiates with mixing isopropyl alcohol, water, and recycled steam getting mixed in the feed drum. Next, the mixture is then sent to the vapouriser to get its phase changed from steam to vapour. On being vapourised, the mixture undergoes heating to a certain temperature in the heater.
The tubular flow reactor is used as a reactor to produce Acetone and Hydrogen while i-propyl-alcohol and water are discharged. Further, upon being sent to the condenser to cool, the mixture is sent to the flash unit. Finally, the mixture gets rid of hydrogen by sending the mixture to the scrubber. Finally, acetone is produced with 99% wt.
