This report provides an extensive cost evaluation of producing Acrylamide via Catalytic Hydration.  In this method, acrylonitrile is used as the starting material for producing acrylamide as the product. This process involves the catalytic hydration of acrylonitrile with Raney copper or copper metal as the catalyst. The process is initiated by passing a solution of acrylonitrile in water over a fixed catalyst bed at 85 degrees Celsius, which results in the formation of acrylamide as the final product.
