Amoxicillin Production from p-hydroxyphenylglycine

Amoxicillin Production Cost Breakup from p-hydroxyphenylglycine
This study analyzes Amoxicillin Production from p-hydroxyphenylglycine, covering manufacturing, process flow, operating expenses, and financial considerations.
Last Updated: January, 2025
This report provides an extensive cost evaluation of Amoxicillin production from p-hydroxyphenylglycine. The manufacturing process of Amoxicillin involves multiple steps. The process starts with dissolving p-hydroxyphenyl glycine is in anhydrous ethanol, Ethyl acetoacetate, and potassium hydroxide to form Dane salt, followed by its crystallization. The Dane salt is further reacted with pivaloyl chloride in the presence of a solvent such as methylene dichloride and 2,6-Lutidine, N,N-Dimethylacetamide, and 2,6-ethyl hexanoic acid as the catalysts to give a mixed anhydride complex. Finally, the mixture is reacted with 6-APA dissolved by triethylamine to produce enamine protected Amoxicillin, followed by hydrolysis with hydrochloric acid, separation, and purification, and centrifugation.
