This report entails a detailed cost evaluation of Bauxite production via the Bayer process. The mineral ore, known as Bauxite, is washed and passed further to be crushed into fine particles, which are then added with spent liquor to make a slurry out of it, which can be easily pumped. The process is followed by desilication, which removes silica from the content.
The mineral mixture is then poured into a tank with chemicals like caustic soda that would react with the mixture to produce sodium aluminate and other substances. The resultant product is then left to attain alumina, which would precipitate on the solution. The alumina is then washed, purified, and calcined to remove all the other impurities and passed towards smelting and attain aluminium metal.
