The process involves mixing o-chlorobenzaldehyde with sodium sulfite, surfactant, and water, then heating to 160-210° C, followed by a sulfonation reaction. After cooling, the reaction products crystallise. The crystallised o-benzaldehyde sulphonic acid sodium salts are then filtered out. The filtrate is concentrated and recrystallized.
