This report presents a detailed cost analysis of bio-ethanol production from corn stover using a biochemical conversion process. In this process, biomass (corn stover) is used as the starting material, which is fractionated to produce cellulose, hemicelluloses, and lignin. Then, the conversion of hemicellulose and cellulose into monomer sugars takes place, followed by the fermentation process to produce bio-ethanol from monomer sugars. The lignin left behind is burnt to produce electricity.
