This report presents a detailed cost analysis of CFRP production from a precursor polymer via carbonization. In this process, a precursor polymer such as rayon and polyacrylonitrile (PAN) is first spun into filament yarns. The polymer filament yarns are then carbonized by heating which drives away the non-carbon atom, thus, producing the carbon fibre filament yarns. These yarns are then further treated to create a sheet of CFRP.
