The report offers the detailed cost analysis of Dihydro Myrcenol production from Hydrogenation of Alpha-Pinene. In this Process, alpha-pinene is hydrogenated in the presence of Raney Nickel catalyst at a pressure between 5.0 kg/cm2 to 25 kg/cm2 and a temperature scale between 80 °C to 130 °C to produce cis pinene, which undergoes catalytic cracking at moderate temperatures (200–400°C) using solid acid catalysts under atmospheric or slightly elevated pressure in an inert or vacuum environment to produce dihydromyrcene.

Later, dihydromyrcen is distilled inside a tall column under vacuum at a pressure of 600 mm/hg -700 mm/hg and temperature scale of 105 °C to 117 °C. Further, dihydromyrcene undergoes direct hydration, by using solid acid catalysts at lower temperatures (80–120°C) and mild pressure, in a water or alcohol-water mixture to produce Dihydro Myrcenol.
