The obtained intermediate, ethylene oxide, is then reacted with water (Hydrolysis), which results in the formation of mono-ethylene glycol (MEG) as the final product. This chemical reaction generates MEG along with diethylene glycol, triethylene glycol, and poly glycol as byproducts.
