This study analyzes Ferric Oxide Production by Dehydration of Hydrated Ferric oxide obtained Via Chemical Reaction of Ferrous Sulfate with Sodium Hydroxide, covering manufacturing, process flow, operating expenses, and financial considerations.
Last Updated: January, 2025
This report proffers the thorough economics of ferric oxide production by dehydration of hydrated ferric oxide, obtained via chemical reaction between ferrous sulfate with sodium hydroxide. The reaction caused by the combination of ferrous sulfate and sodium hydroxide leads to the formation of ferrous hydroxide (Fe(OH)2). Ferrous hydroxide is not very stable when exposed to air. It oxidizes to form iron(III) hydroxide (Fe(OH)3), also known as hydrated ferric oxide. The resultant is further dehydrated at a temperature of around 200 °C and produces ferric oxide as the final product.
