The process starts with degreasing to remove grease and dirt from the surface of the steel by dipping it into an alkaline cleaning solution, followed by rinsing the article and pickling, where the steel article is dipped into an acid bath followed by rinsing the acid residue, which is led by dipping the article in the flux solution made up of zinc ammonium chloride. Fluxing is followed by dipping the steel into a zinc bath containing molten zinc, which is further cooled to give the galvanized steel finally.
