High Density Polyethylene Production using Slurry Process

The report involves the cost analysis of HDPE production through Slurry process. In the process, the Ziegler-Natta catalyst is mixed with a liquid hydrocarbon(C4 or C6) acting as a diluent.  A mixture of hydrogen and ethene is passed under pressure into the slurry and ethene is polymerized to HDPE. The reaction takes place in a large loop reactor with the mixture constantly stirred.
