This report contains a comprehensive cost evaluation of l-lysine from the fermentation process. Inoculum is prepared using high yielding mutant strain of C. glutamicum using tap water which is utilised for fermentation. The fermentation process takes place at a temperature of 28°C for up to 60 hours. The growth factors such as homoserine or threonine and methionine along with biotin are present in optimal amounts to facilitate optimum l-lysine production. And lastly, l-lysine is harvested and recovered at a temperature of 40°C, and tetracycline and chloramphenicol are used to prevent sporulation.
