Last Updated: January, 2025
This report provides an extensive cost evaluation of producing Lithium iron phosphate via the solid-phase method. In this method, lithium carbonate (Li2CO3) and anhydrous iron phosphate (FePO4) are used as raw materials for the production of lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4). The process involves mixing a ferrous compound, lithium, and a phosphate source, followed by sintering at extreme temperatures and inert conditions to obtain lithium iron phosphate as the product. The process starts with combining lithium carbonate and anhydrous iron phosphate, followed by sintering at 600–750°C in an inert atmosphere, which leads to the formation of lithium iron phosphate as the final product. Additionally, a carbon source can also be added while preparing the mixture to improve the conducting properties of the final product.
