This report provides an extensive cost evaluation of Petroleum Jelly production from crude oil. The manufacturing process of Petroleum Jelly starts with the extraction of crude oil, followed by distillation to separate heavier fractions, such as paraffin waxes, which are the main ingredient for petroleum jelly. Paraffin waxes are collected lower down as they require higher vaporization temperatures. The process is followed by vacuum distillation to refine these components further while preventing thermal cracking. The process continues with de-oiling, where solvents remove oil content from slack wax and solvent extraction is used for additional impurity removal. The next step is hydro finishing, which then treats the wax with hydrogen to saturate hydrocarbons, followed by decolorization and deodorization.
