This report provides a comprehensive cost evaluation of propylene oxide production via cumene oxidation process. In this chemical process, propylene is epoxidized using cumene hydroperoxide in a fixed-bed reactor equipped with titanium-based catalysts. This reaction produces propylene oxide and cumyl alcohol. The cumyl alcohol is then dehydrated to form α-methylstyrene, which subsequently undergoes hydrogenation to regenerate cumene. This cumene is oxidized to recreate cumene hydroperoxide, which is then recycled back into the reactor to continue the cycle of propylene oxide production.
