In this process, the wells are made to undergo drilling up to the depth of 1,000 feet to get closer to the salt deposit. Then, the wells are connected by the process of lateral drilling. Through lateral drilling, upon the interconnection of wells, water is made to be pumped down in one of the wells which dissolves the salt in the well.
The brine from the well is then surfaced through the other well followed by its storage in large tanks after it is piped through the wells. Later, the brine is pumped into the series of vacuum pumps that dry and heat the brine at lower pressure, resulting in the formation of PVD salt.
