This report provides a comprehensive cost evaluation of rapeseed oil production via extraction from rapeseed. The first step of this process is the pre-treatment of the rapeseed through grinding, rolling, breaking, pressing, etc. Basically, the cells of the seeds are broken in this process. The next step is dehulling where the fibres and other additional pigments are removed to get rid of hulls. Then, the oil seeds are further ruptured and pressed to extract the oil at elevated temperatures.

Further, the seeds undergo screw pressing and passed through hexane for extraction. The hexane is thus removed from desolventising process followed by the distillation of the oil and its degumming. Finally, the oil is purified after removing the impurities following drying, bleaching, neutralisation, deodourisation, and degumming processes.
