This report provides a current and comprehensive cost analysis of sulfuric acid production from hydrogen sulfide gases using the Wet sulfuric acid process. In this method, hydrogen sulfide from the feed gas undergoes combustion, producing sulfur dioxide and water.
The sulfur dioxide is then converted to sulfur trioxide, which is cooled to a temperature where it reacts with water in the gas phase, forming sulfuric acid. The resulting sulfuric acid is condensed and concentrated to about 98% by weight.
