This report entails the detailed cost evaluation of Toluene Diisocyanate production via Bayer gas phase reaction method. In the Bayer gas phase reaction, Toluene diamine or TDA is vaporized at around 250-450 °C and in an inert gas such as nitrogen that helps in controlling the reaction conditions within the reactor. On the other hand, phosgene is heated at around 200-600 °C and diluted with an inert gas or solvent. The obtained phosgene and TDA are then injected into the plug flow reactor. The resultant gaseous product is then condensed to produce Toluene diisocyanate (TDI) in a liquid form.
