This report presents the economics of vinylidene chloride copolymer production through vinylidene chloride and vinyl chloride. It is done with the assistance of suspension polymerization method. The production of VDC initiates with the chlorination of ethylene dichloride so that 1,1,2 trichloroethane can be created. 1,1,2 trichloroethane then undergoes dehydrochlorination with lime or caustic soda to produce VDC. Production takes place in a restricted system with a stainless-steel reactor system. Air emissions are controlled using carbon absorption schemes.
