The compound has a melting point of -89 degree Celsius and a boiling point of 66 degree Celsius. It has a flash point of -27 degree Celsius, which classifies it as a highly flammable liquid. The compound is practically insoluble in water but is miscible with most common organic solvents. The compound is sensitive to light and tends to darken upon prolonged exposure to sunlight. It poses significant health hazards, as it is acutely toxic via inhalation and oral routes. It is also known to act as a hepatotoxic agent with the potential to cause liver damage upon repeated exposure.
