The compound can also be dissolved in acetone and glacial acetic acid. Similarly, it is moderately soluble in petroleum ether, chloroform, toluene, and ethyl acetate. It can also be dissolved in acetic anhydride, while it is insoluble in ether. Its density is 1.07 g/cm3 under a normal condition. It sublimes when heated beyond its melting point, and its crystals turn pink when heated at 230 °C.
