Benzyl Salicylate (C14H12O3) is a benzoate ester that is functionally related to salicylic acid. It is primarily found in some plants and plant extracts, including hyacinth flower oil and ylang-ylang oil. The liquid appears colorless with a faintly sweet-floral and slightly balsamic odor, having low volatility and mild intensity. It is classified as an allergen and has a molecular weight of 228.24 g/mol. Its respective flash and boiling points are >100°C and 320°C.
