Crude Sunflower Oil is derived from the fatty kernels (partially dehulled seeds) of sunflowers using mechanical pressing pursued by hexane extraction and water degumming. Crude sunflower oil contains all impurities present from the pressing or the solvent extraction process, foul smell, pigments, wax content etc.

It has a product specific smell, without any unknown flavour as well as a rancid smell. It is an edible oil of high quality. It is non–volatile and has applications as a frying oil and in cosmetic formulations as an emollient. It does not have a long storage life and should be kept in a dark, cold place in glassware.
