The resulting dried crumb is then cooled, baled, and packed for distribution.

Ethylene Propylene Elastomer (EPR or EPM) is a synthetic rubber with a diverse range of physical and chemical properties. It exhibits tensile strength of 7-21 MPa and elongation of 100-600%. Its specific gravity ranges from 0.855 to 0.880, and it can perform in temperatures from -50 degree Celsius to +160 degree Celsius. EPR has good tear and abrasion resistance and excellent weather and ozone resistance. It is a non-polar compound and shows superior water resistance. It is a copolymer of ethylene and propylene that often serves as an electrical insulator. EPR shows excellent resistance to acids, alkalies, and oxidation while resisting alcohols and ketones well. However, it has poor resistance to oils, fuels, and most solvents. It is insoluble in many polar solvents and can be cured with peroxides for enhanced heat resistance. These properties make EPR suitable for various applications, including electrical insulation, flexible rubber goods, etc.
