How to Order Your Report?

Product Overview

The report provides a detailed analysis essential for establishing a Ferrite Magnet Powder production plant. It encompasses all critical aspects necessary for Ferrite Magnet Powder production, including the cost of Ferrite Magnet Powder production, Ferrite Magnet Powder plant cost, Ferrite Magnet Powder production costs, and the overall Ferrite Magnet Powder production plant cost. Additionally, the study covers specific expenditures associated with setting up and operating a Ferrite Magnet Powder production plant. These encompass production processes, raw material requirements, utility requirements, infrastructure needs, machinery and technology requirements, manpower requirements, packaging requirements, transportation requirements, and more.

Ferrite magnet powder, mainly composed of iron oxide combined with barium or strontium, functions as a fundamental raw material to manufacture permanent magnets utilised for their cost-effectiveness, high coercivity, corrosion resistance, and temperature stability compared to rare-earth alternatives.

In the automotive sector, it is used to produce magnets for electric motors, alternators, sensors, and speakers, supporting both conventional vehicles and the growing demand from electric vehicles for efficient, durable components. It is used in the electronics industry for transformers, inductors, magnetic cores, speakers, hard disk drives, and high-frequency devices. Its energy applications include renewable systems like wind turbine generators and solar panels for improved efficiency, along with microwave absorbers and EMI shielding. Additionally, it finds application in consumer goods such as power tools, MRI contrast agents, industrial automation motors, and telecommunications for 5G components, driven by its affordability and reliability in harsh conditions.

Ferrite magnet powder's market growth is propelled by surging demand in electric vehicles (EVs) for motors, sensors, and energy systems, along with the expansion of renewable energy projects like wind turbines and solar inverters that require durable, cost-effective magnets.

The booming consumer electronics sector, including speakers, headphones, and appliances, further drives adoption due to the powder's corrosion resistance, thermal stability, and affordability over rare-earth alternatives. Additionally, rapid industrialisation in Asia-Pacific, mainly China, coupled with government policies promoting energy efficiency and 5G infrastructure, amplifies consumption and demand. Moreover, automotive electrification and strict emissions regulations worldwide sustain long-term momentum. Industrial ferrite magnet powder procurement is influenced by raw material availability and costs, primarily iron oxide (Fe2O3), barium carbonate (BaCO3), or strontium carbonate (SrCO3).

Raw Material for Ferrite Magnet Powder Production

According to the Ferrite Magnet Powder production plant project report, the various raw materials for Ferrite Magnet Powder production include iron oxide and strontium or barium carbonate.

Production Process of Ferrite Magnet Powder

The extensive Ferrite Magnet Powder production cost report consists of the following major industrial production process:

  1. Production from iron oxide: The production process of ferrite magnet powder starts with the careful weighing and homogeneous mixing of raw materials, such as iron oxide (Fe2O3) and strontium or barium carbonate (SrCO3 or BaCO3), with additives like silica or alumina for optimised properties. In the next step, the raw materials are pelletised for uniformity and calcined at 800-1100 degree Celsius in rotary kilns to form hexagonal ferrite precursors (MO·6Fe2O3). The calcination is followed by coarse crushing and multi-stage wet milling, in ball mills or attritors, to yield anisotropic fine powder with particles under 1 micron (ideally 0.5-0.8 μm) for superior magnetic alignment. The resulting slurry is dried and granulated into flowable powder, rigorously tested for size distribution, purity (>98% Fe2O3), and magnetic potential. The final step involves wet or dry pressing, high-temperature sintering (1200-1300 degree Celsius), machining, and magnetisation to produce finished ferrite magnet powder.

Properties of Ferrite Magnet Powder

Ferrite magnet powder, mainly strontium or barium hexaferrite (SrFe12O19 or BaFe12O19), has various physical and chemical properties that make it ideal for permanent magnet production. It has a fine particle size of 0.5-1 μm for optimal magnetic domain alignment, high density around 4.9-5.1 g/cm³, and mechanical strength, including compressive strength up to 700 MPa. It has a flexural strength of 70 MPa, and Young's modulus near 200 GPa, with low thermal expansion (10-15 ppm/K) and specific heat of about 837 J/kg·K. It shows excellent corrosion and oxidation resistance due to its ceramic-like oxide structure, high electrical resistivity minimising eddy current losses in high-frequency uses, and robust thermal stability up to 300 degree Celsius (Curie temperature ~450 degree Celsius). Its various magnetic traits include remanence (Br) of 0.35-0.4 T, coercivity (Hcj) of 30-160 kA/m (positive temperature coefficient +0.2-0.4%/ degree Celsius), and high permeability.
