The compound acts as a thickening agent in preparing greases. Additionally, it is widely referred to as a chemical coolant that is included in nuclear reactors. It exhibits good thermal and electrical conductivity. It can also be utilized in making lithium-ion batteries that are installed in several electronic devices and gadgets. One of its major usages is seen in the chemical industry. The compound is used in synthesizing other lithium compounds.
