How to Order Your Report?

Product Overview

The report provides a detailed analysis essential for establishing a Metol production plant. It encompasses all critical aspects necessary for Metol production, including the cost of Metol production, Metol plant cost, Metol production costs, and the overall Metol production plant cost. Additionally, the study covers specific expenditures associated with setting up and operating a Metol production plant. These encompass production processes, raw material requirements, utility requirements, infrastructure needs, machinery and technology requirements, manpower requirements, packaging requirements, transportation requirements, and more.

Metol is a water-soluble salt that is widely used as a medication for the treatment of Hypertension (high blood pressure), Angina (chest pain), Arrhythmia, and other heart conditions. Moreover, it is used as medicine to prevent stroke, heart attacks, and migraines. Additionally, it commonly finds its application as developing agents in black-and-white film and paper. It is often used as an intermediate in the production of hair dyes, fur, and certain drugs, such as diloxanide.

The market for Metol is predominantly driven by its extensive usage as a developing agent in black-and-white photographic developers, which significantly boosts its demand in the photography industry. Moreover, its utilization as a medicine for the treatment of high blood pressure, irregular heart rhythms, and certain other body conditions etc., further enhances its demand in the medical and pharmaceutical industries.

Additionally, its employment in the manufacture of certain dyes, pigments, and chemical compounds that are further used in various industries effectively boosts its demand in the chemical production industries. Furthermore, several factors influence industrial Metol procurement, such as the availability of raw materials, cost and pricing, compliance with pharmaceutical regulations, quality standards, technological advancements, environmental considerations, sustainability practices, distribution (including trading and shipping), logistics, safety standards, etc.

Raw Material for Metol Production

According to the Metol production plant project report, the major raw materials for Metol production include p-Nitrophenol-Sulfuric Acid; p-Aminophenol-Formaldehyde; Monochloroacetic Acid- p-Aminophenol; p-Halophenol-Methyl Amine.

Production Process of Metol

The extensive Metol production cost report consists of the following industrial production processes:

  1. Production via Catalytic Hydrogenation: This production process involves the catalytic hydrogenation of p-nitrophenol (PNP) to p-aminophenol (PAP), followed by the hydrogenation of Schiff’s base (MAP) and then the catalyst is filtered. Further, the filtrate is neutralized with sulfuric acid to synthesize metol as the final product.
  2. Production via Reductive alkylation: This method involves the reductive alkylation of p-aminophenol (PAP) with formaldehyde to form metol. In this process, p-aminophenol serves as the primary amine, and its reaction with formaldehyde introduces the methyl group into the p-aminophenol to form an intermediate imine, which is further reduced in the presence of catalyst (platinum or palladium) to produce p-methylaminophenol. Further, the product is sulfated with sulfuric acid to synthesize N-methyl-p-aminophenol sulfate or Metol.
  3. Production via Production from Monochloroacetic Acid: The process involves the reaction of monochloroacetic acid with p-aminophenol (PAP) to produce Metol as the product. The method is initiated by reacting monochloroacetic acid with p-aminophenol (PAP) that propagates through a nucleophilic substitution mechanism, in which an intermediate is produced when the amine group of p-aminophenol attacks the carbon of monochloroacetic acid. The intermediate formed is further sulfated to give Metol as the product.
  4. Production from Methyl Amine: It involves the reaction of p-halophenol with methyl amine to form metol as the product.

Metol appears as a colorless organic substance in sulfate form, which is soluble in water. The IUPAC name of the compound is 4-(methylamino)phenol sulfate. The molecular formula of the compound is C14H18N2O2•H2SO4, and its molecular weight is 344.38 g/mol. The melting point of Metol is 260°C. It refers to the beta-blockers group of medicine. It is also known as Elon. It is extremely sensitive to light in its pure form. Moreover, metol solutions are acidic due to the sulfate group. If ingested, it can be toxic, and thus, it is necessary to handle it carefully.
