How to Order Your Report?

Product Overview

The report provides a detailed analysis essential for establishing a propyzamide production plant. It encompasses all critical aspects necessary for propyzamide production, including the cost of propyzamide production, propyzamide plant cost, propyzamide production costs, and the overall propyzamide production plant cost. Additionally, the study covers specific expenditures associated with setting up and operating a propyzamide production plant. These encompass production processes, raw material requirements, utility requirements, infrastructure needs, machinery and technology requirements, manpower requirements, packaging requirements, transportation requirements, and more.

Propyzamide is a selective herbicide that is mainly used in agriculture to effectively manage and control the growth of unwanted weeds. It is primarily used to control a wide range of annual and perennial grasses as well as certain broadleaf weeds in crops such as lettuce, alfalfa, fruits, and ornamental plants. It is also applied in various oilseed crops to manage grassy weeds and some broadleaf weeds that can reduce crop yield. It also finds its application as an herbicide in protecting fruit orchards, vineyards, sugar beets, and alfalfa from weeds that reduce yields. It is often used in soil treatment, where it works by inhibiting root development in weeds and preventing them from spreading. It is used by farmers during the early season to keep fields clean and protect young plants from weed competition. Moreover, it is also utilised in turf management, ornamental shrubs, and forestry by targeting invaders like chickweed and speedwells without harming desirable plants. It is often used in commercial farming practices to improve productivity and maintain field quality for crops like oilseed rape, lettuce, legumes, and pastures by controlling weeds like ryegrass and blackgrass.

The primary factor that drives the market for propyzamide is its application as a soil-applied herbicide to control stubborn grass weeds in farming, which supports its demand in the agriculture sector. Its application as an herbicide in crops like lettuce, berries, oilseed rape, and turf to stop weed roots from growing and spreading largely boosts its demand in the agriculture sector. Its application in orchards and vineyards to maintain weed-free rows and support better crop growth significantly promotes its demand in the agriculture sector. Its usage in sports turf and home lawns to manage grasses like annual ryegrass and winter grass also increases its demand in sports turf management or landscape services sectors.

Its involvement as a selective herbicide to support integrated pest management programs and non-crop areas, such as roads, also drives its demand in agricultural support services and infrastructure maintenance sectors. Its demand as an important chemical in cultivation and modern crop protection systems to manage weeds and improve crop yield also contributes to its market growth. Moreover, its extensive use in crops such as lettuce, alfalfa, and oilseed plantations further fuels its demand in the agrochemical and farming industries. Additionally, industrial propyzamide procurement practices are defined on the basis of several factors, including the cost and availability of raw materials, regulatory approvals for pesticide usage, and environmental safety guidelines. Moreover, advancements in herbicide formulation, supplier reliability, sustainable agricultural practices, and efficient distribution networks largely impact propyzamide procurement strategies.

Raw Material for Propyzamide Production

According to the propyzamide production plant project report, the major raw materials for propyzamide production includes 3,5-dichlorobenzoic acid and 2-methylbut-3-yn-2-amine.

Production Processes of Propyzamide

The extensive propyzamide production cost report consists of the following industrial production processes:

  1. Production via Coupling Reaction: The production process of propyzamide begins with preparing 3,5-dichlorobenzoic acid as the main starting material, which provides the benzamide backbone of the compound. Then, 3,5-dichlorobenzoic acid is reacted with 2-methylbut-3-yn-2-amine, which allows the amino group to condense with the carboxy group and form the desired amide bond. After the coupling reaction is complete, the crude product is purified through crystallisation or suitable separation methods to obtain propyzamide as the final solid herbicidal compound.
  2. Production via Ammoniation: The production process of propyzamide begins with the preparation of the required amine intermediate from methylbutynol through ammoniation, where methylbutynol is treated with ammonia to form 2-methylbut-3-yn-2-amine. Then, this amine is reacted with 3,5-dichlorobenzoyl chloride under controlled conditions to allow amide bond formation. During this step, the amino group reacts with the acid chloride to produce the benzamide structure of propyzamide, while the hydrogen chloride formed in the reaction is neutralised. After completion, the reaction mixture is processed by washing and purification, and the product is isolated and crystallised to obtain propyzamide in solid form as the desired product.

Propyzamide is a selective pre-emergence and early post-emergence herbicide that belongs to the benzamide class of compounds. It appears as a white to off-white, odourless crystalline solid or powder. The molecular formula of the compound is C12H11Cl2NO, and its molar mass is 256.13 g/mol. It has a density of approximately 1.27 g/cm³, and its melting point is in the range of 153-155 degrees Celsius. The boiling point of the compound is approximately 340.9 degrees Celsius. It is also commonly known as Pronamide. The compound is practically insoluble in water, with a water solubility of only 15 mg/L at 25 degrees Celsius, but it is slightly soluble in organic solvents such as chloroform and methanol. The compound is classified as a suspected human carcinogen and is very toxic to aquatic life with long-lasting effects. It is recommended to wear protective eyeshields, gloves, and appropriate respiratory protection while handling the compound. Extended or repeated exposure to this substance may pose health risks, and proper disposal must be carried out in accordance with environmental regulations.
