American peppermint prices had a mixed trend in 2025. In the first quarter, the prices of American peppermint were slightly lower due to the rise in the supply of raw materials from major growing regions. Meanwhile, the demand from the pharmaceutical, personal care, and food sectors remained moderate rather than strong.

In the second quarter of 2025, the prices continued to soften. This was because the crop yield improved and the supply of the oil increased, thus removing the pressure on the prices. In contrast, the demand in the oral care, confectionery, and cosmetics sectors slowed down slightly. In this period, the prices had a flat pattern as the traders and buyers focused on fulfilling the demand rather than buying fresh stock.

The third quarter witnessed prices appreciating steadily with supply issues in some areas due to export controls and operational difficulties. Despite firming market conditions, farmers continued to face cost and inventory pressures that affected profitability. New regulations in major markets created additional complexity to prices that remained firm but trading activity remained cautious.

Prices in the fourth quarter remained stable to firm. Supply management and sustained demand from pharmaceuticals, personal care products, and food processing industries contributed to gradual price increases. Buying activities remained cautious with most buying activities closely matched to immediate needs to prevent price volatility.
