Asia
In Asia, there was a general trend of declining prices of Ammonium Acetate in the final quarter of 2025. For producers in Asia, including major economies of China and India, there was a strong supply of essential raw materials, as well as improvements in logistics, thereby keeping downward pressures on prices. In addition, there was a cautious approach to buying by industries such as pharmaceuticals and agrochemicals, as well as smoother port operations compared to the initial months of the year, thus keeping spot prices under control.
Europe
In the European markets, there was a decrease in the prices of ammonium acetate in the last quarter of 2025. The demand for the chemical was not strong, given the sluggish nature of industries such as the construction and automotive industries. The utilities costs also remained high, and the prices did not appreciate much due to the pressure of imports and the availability of the chemical in the local markets. The prices generally continued to decline or remain stable compared to the previous quarter.
North America
In North America, the pricing trend for Ammonium Acetate during this period followed the same general trend as the global market. The feedstock markets for ammonia and acetic acid had stabilized from earlier volatile conditions, and domestic chemical market conditions were steady. Demand from end-use markets served by Ammonium Acetate, such as biopharma and other industrial chemicals, was selective in terms of buying activity, which contributed to a general decrease in pricing.
Analyst Insight
According to Procurement Resource, Ammonium Acetate prices are likely to remain under mild downward pressure unless feedstock costs or strong demand drivers re emerge to tighten supply.

Asia
In Asia, especially China, the ammonium acetate market showed weak to slightly stable pricing during Q3’25. One of the main reasons was the continued drop in acetic acid prices during most of the quarter, as production stayed high and downstream demand was limited. Ammonia prices also stayed under pressure due to abundant supply and slow agricultural activity.
Many buyers delayed purchasing or only bought small quantities based on immediate needs, leading to reduced trading activity. Although there was a brief improvement in acetic acid prices near the end of the quarter due to plant maintenance and pre-holiday restocking, it was not strong enough to lift ammonium acetate prices significantly. Overall, the market remained quiet, with low buying interest and no major price momentum.
Europe
The ammonium acetate market in Europe also faced downward pressure during the quarter. Acetic acid prices stayed weak, with sufficient supply and soft demand from downstream industries. Ammonia availability remained stable, and agricultural demand did not improve, keeping overall consumption limited. Some short-lived supply changes occurred, but they had little effect on market direction. Buyers continued to adopt a cautious approach, making only necessary purchases. As a result, ammonium acetate prices remained mostly flat, with a slightly soft trend overall.
North America
In North America, the ammonium acetate market stayed stable but lacked strong direction. Ammonia supply was adequate throughout the quarter, while acetic acid prices moved slightly lower before showing mild recovery. However, this did not significantly affect ammonium acetate prices, as demand remained low. The agricultural sector was in its off-season, and industrial usage showed no major increase. With balanced supply and demand, prices held within a narrow range.
Analyst Insight
According to Procurement Resource, Ammonium Acetate prices may see mild support in Q4’25 if agricultural demand picks up, but a strong recovery will depend on whether downstream sectors begin to show more activity.
Ammonium acetate is industrially obtained by a neutralization reaction of acetic acid and ammonia. It is a white crystalline salt with solubility in water. In a number of synthesis methods, it acts as a buffering agent. On the other hand, in electroplating baths, wood preservation, and laboratory procedures, it is used as a de-icing agent. This property of ammonium acetate makes it useful in medicines, dyeing, and some developing solutions for photos.
