- Antimony trioxide prices in China showed a firm upward trend in Q1 2026, supported by tight raw material availability and controlled market supply.
- Feedstock conditions remained constrained as antimony ore supply stayed limited, keeping production costs elevated and supporting seller offers.
- Downstream demand from flame retardants and photovoltaic glass remained steady, with essential buying sustaining market absorption despite resistance to high prices.
In China, antimony trioxide prices remained firm through Q1’26 as tight upstream antimony availability and cautious producer selling supported the market. According to the U.S. Geological Survey, global antimony mine production in 2025 was estimated at around 100,000 metric tonnes, highlighting a highly concentrated supply base and China’s critical role in the market. Domestic supply stayed tight because ore availability remained limited, mining controls continued, and replenishment of smelter raw materials was slow. Demand from flame retardants, the largest end-use sector, remained stable, while photovoltaic glass provided additional support because antimony trioxide is processed into sodium antimonate for clarifying applications. Export demand also improved earlier in the quarter, helping support sentiment, though downstream buyers largely maintained need-based procurement and showed limited tolerance for elevated prices.
