Chlorosilanes are silicon products that are majorly consumed in the automotive, aerospace, and glass industries and in the production of silicon polymers. Made from the feedstock metal silicon and methyl chloride, the price trend of Chlorosilanes mimic any price fluctuations seen in their market.
Chlorosilanes started the year 2023 with high inventory levels as the unused stocks had been lying in the inventories amidst the low industrial usage in the year 2022, given the Chinese lockdowns and the Russia-Ukraine conflict. Since the inventories were already high and even with a gradual increase in global demands, the dichlorosilane prices were observed to be wavering at the lower end throughout the said period. Further, the suppliers offered discounted rates in hopes of positive product movements. General market sentiments were observed to be dull.
