During the second quarter of 2024, M-LLDPE market showed mixed movement across major regions. In Asia, prices moved upward even though raw material and energy costs softened. Supply issues, rising freight charges, and vessel congestion tightened availability, pushing buyers to secure larger volumes and adding further strain to the market. China was an exception, where stable demand helped keep conditions more balanced.

In Europe, the market stayed relatively steady. Consistent feedstock values helped maintain this stability, but overall demand remained weak. Slow activity in key industries, concerns about economic performance in major global markets, and transport disruptions caused by heavy rainfall all limited market momentum.

North America recorded a clear rise in prices due to strong seasonal demand. Summer requirements, hurricane-season stocking, and increased orders from major end-use sectors boosted consumption. Buyers aimed to secure material early, which kept the market firm throughout the quarter.

About M-LLDPE (Blown Film)

M-LLDPE (Blown Film) Production Process

  • M-LLDPE (Blown Films) Production

Blown films, also known as tubular films, are typically formed by first pressuring out m-LLDPE plastic through a tubular die, which is then further stretched and blown with air. This process eventually results in the formation of thin-walled films. When the air exits and the film cools, the thin plastic is then rolled through a line of rollers to flatten the layers and give the final m-LLDPE blown films.
