Nicotine Sulfate Production by acidification reaction. The production process begins with the extraction of nicotine from tobacco leaves using the solvent extraction method. In this reaction, solvents like petroleum ether or methanol are used to treat the tobacco leaves in order to obtain nicotine for further reaction. It is then treated with kerosene (solvent) and transferred into the reactor for acidification using dilute sulfuric acid. The reaction of nicotine and sulfuric acid results in the production of nicotine sulfate as the end product.
