Polyol prices in China remained stable at ~USD 4,196.76/MT in April and ~USD 4,206.00/MT in June, showing minimal fluctuations during Q2’26. The market strengthened early as propylene oxide supply tightened due to maintenance activities, pushing upstream costs higher. However, conditions softened later as PO availability improved, imports increased and downstream buyers reduced procurement. China imported approximately 9,800 MT of propylene oxide in April, supporting feedstock availability. Polyether demand remained cautious as operating rates stayed low and buyers focused on immediate requirements. In the United States, polyol prices increased slightly from ~USD 4,283.76/MT in April to ~USD 4,361.00/MT in June. Producer price adjustments supported the market, with rigid polyester polyol suppliers announcing increases during Q2 due to higher raw-material costs. Downstream demand received support from automotive and construction activity, with U.S. motor vehicle and parts output increasing 3.7% month on month in April and building construction investment in Canada rising 2.3% during the same period. However, broader industrial demand remained uneven as chemical and plastics-related activity weakened.
