The raspberry puree market was subjected to a broadly volatile pricing environment in H2’25, with fluctuations in the availability of raw materials in key producing countries. In the third quarter, tightness in raspberry supply, particularly in Ukraine, supported procurement costs for puree manufacturers. However, with an increasing availability of raw materials in Ukraine and Poland, puree manufacturers were able to operate at an optimal capacity. However, the gap in availability between fresh fruit and purees was pronounced, with puree manufacturers competing with frozen berry manufacturers for bulk supplies.
The fourth quarter saw a more pronounced shift in the puree market. Production losses in Serbia due to unfavourable weather conditions caused a decline in the availability of the fruit. As a result, puree production costs increased, and prices for finished product purees were at elevated levels. However, in key consuming countries like France, Spain, the Netherlands, and the UK, buyers were forced to look to alternative sources to meet demand. Despite this, overall puree availability remained constrained relative to demand from the food and beverage processing sector.
Analyst Insight
According to Procurement Resource, Raspberry puree prices are expected to remain firm in the near term, as the effects of Serbian production shortfalls continue to reverberate through supply chains.
