It is poorly soluble in water but is soluble in organic solvents like DMF and PBS. It is chiral with (2S,4aS,4bS,7S,9aR,11aS,11bR)-stereochemistry, light-sensitive, hygroscopic, combustible, and requires storage at 2-8 degree Celsius in dry, dark, sealed conditions away from strong oxidants. All these physical and chemical properties makes it useful as a veterinary drug.
