Frequently Asked Questions

The estimated CAPEX range is USD 8 million to USD 40 million for a natural rubber processing plant producing block rubber and sheet.
The benchmark plant capacity is 10,000 to 60,000 MT per year of processed natural rubber.
The global market is estimated at around USD 40 billion to USD 55 billion and may reach about USD 55 billion to USD 75 billion by the early 2030s, growing at roughly 4.0% to 4.5% a year.
Tires and automotive account for 60% to 70% of demand, gloves and healthcare account for 10% to 20%, and footwear, industrial, and specialty applications represent 15% to 25%.
The process involves coagulation of field latex or cup lump, followed by milling and crumbing, hot-air drying at about 100 to 130 degree Celsius, or smoking for ribbed sheet, and final baling into technically specified rubber or ribbed smoked sheet.
The primary feedstocks are field latex and cup lump, requiring about 1.02 to 1.06 MT of dry rubber content feed per MT of product. These inputs account for around 80% to 90% of variable operating expenses.
The processing and drying suite, including coagulation tanks, crepe and crumb mills, dryers, and baling presses, accounts for around 35% to 45% of the total natural rubber plant setup cost.
Production costs are mainly driven by purchased field latex and cup lump, which account for around 80% to 90% of variable operating expenses. Milling, drying, and baling represent about 10% to 18% of total OPEX.
Southeast Asia dominates global natural rubber production, led by Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, and Malaysia. These four countries together account for approximately 57% of global natural rubber production. India and West Africa are also important producing regions.
Available grades include technically specified block rubber and ribbed smoked sheet.
There is no universal minimum recycled-content requirement for raw natural rubber. Production is subject to environmental requirements covering wastewater, odor, chemical use, and processing waste, while sustainability and traceability certification may also be required by buyers. For the European Union, natural rubber remains covered by the EU Deforestation Regulation, requiring covered products to be deforestation-free and legally produced.
