Asia
During Q4’25, Isodecanol prices in Asia mostly followed a downward trend with brief periods of stability. At the start of the quarter, the market weakened as supply availability increased and demand slowed after the holiday period. Buyers remained cautious and preferred to consume existing inventories rather than place fresh orders. As the supply stayed comfortable and demand growth was weak, sellers faced pressure to offer discounts to move material. In early December, prices stabilized slightly due to lower operating rates and reduced inventories. However, this support did not last long, as downstream demand weakened again, pulling prices lower.
Europe
In Europe, Isodecanol prices showed a generally weak trend throughout Q4’25. Demand from key downstream sectors such as coatings, lubricants, and plasticizers stayed subdued due to slow industrial activity. Buyers adopted a wait-and-see approach and avoided bulk purchases. Supply conditions remained steady, and producers managed output carefully, which prevented sharp price drops but also limited any upside.
North America
In North America, Isodecanol prices remained relatively stable with mild fluctuations during Q4’25. Early in the quarter, demand softened as buyers focused on immediate needs. Supply levels were sufficient, and producers maintained controlled inventory levels. Later in the quarter, slightly tighter spot availability provided temporary support, allowing prices to hold steady. However, weak downstream demand and stable feedstock conditions limited any strong upward movement.
Analyst Insight
According to Procurement Resource, Isodecanol prices are expected to remain stable, with market direction depending mainly on demand recovery and changes in supply conditions.

Asia
In Asia, Isodecanol prices showed mixed movements during Q3’25. Early in the quarter, slight gains were observed as supply tightened due to planned maintenance at several production plants and low inventories. However, these gains did not last long. By mid-quarter, fresh shipments from other regions and growing port stocks, particularly in major markets like China and India, put downward pressure on prices.
Domestic demand softened, with key industrial sectors showing limited activity. Seasonal factors, such as monsoon-related slowdowns in some regions, further weakened buying interest. Toward the end of September, prices stabilized at a lower level as oversupply persisted and market sentiment remained cautious.
Europe
In Europe, prices largely remained stable but showed a slightly soft trend through Q3’25. Early in the quarter, stronger energy costs and tighter supply from key exporters provided some upward push. Yet, as the quarter advanced, demand from downstream sectors remained sluggish, limiting any sustained price gains.
Stable operations at local plants and consistent imports ensured that supply was comfortable, preventing sharp price movements. Any minor strengthening seen during mid-quarter faded by September, as market participants stayed cautious amid softer cues from Asia. Overall, the European market leaned slightly weak by the quarter’s close.
North America
In North America, prices stayed mostly steady throughout the quarter. Early firmness due to higher feedstock and energy costs was balanced by moderate demand and sufficient plant availability. Trade activity was steady but cautious, with buyers preferring short-term arrangements. Temporary volatility in energy markets mid-quarter added brief cost pressures, but these did not lead to lasting changes. Global signals from other regions influenced local trends, keeping the market in a stable to slightly soft state.

In the oxo process, aldehydes are produced from alkenes, where a formyl group and a hydrogen atom are added to the carbon-carbon double bond. Similarly, the oxo synthesis of nonenes in the presence of cobalt catalyst leads to the formation of the corresponding aldehyde, which is further reduced to form the corresponding alcohol, i.e., Isodecanol.
