Triethyl Phosphite Production Cost Breakup From Phosphorous Trichloride and Ethyl Alcohol

Details: Germany - based plant Q1 2024  | From $ USD

This report comprises a detailed cost evaluation of triethyl phosphite production from Phosphorous Trichloride and Ethyl Alcohol. In this process, firstly Tri Ethyl Phosphite is formed by reacting PCl3 (Phosphorous Trichloride) and Anhydrous Ethyl Alcohol in the presence of a solvent containing a catalyst. Ammonia gas is introduced into the reactor to neutralize the hydrochloric acid formed during the reaction. Ammonium Chloride is formed as a by-product and is removed from the reaction stream.

An instant reaction takes place when the Raw Materials, PCl3, Ethyl Alcohol, Solvent, and Ammonia are filled in a stirred reactor and the chilled water is circulated in the jacket and coil of the reactor to maintain the temperature of this exothermic reaction. The reaction mixture of Solvent, Tri Ethyl Phosphite, and Ammonium Chloride undergoes various processes. Lastly, Tri Ethyl Phosphite is extracted from the mixture by dissolving Ammonium Chloride in water.
