As per the company, the facility will be commercially operational by Q4 of 2026 and have an annual polypropylene production capacity of 600,000 tonnes. The polypropylene produced will be supplied to manufacturers of end-user industries like household appliances, medical equipment, automobile, and electronics.

The petrochemical facility will reportedly use advanced equipment that guarantees sustainable production and lower greenhouse gas emissions.

Cutting-Edge Technologies

For the project, many proponents offered the most state-of-the-art technologies used to produce PP, per Stavian. These comprised propane dehydrogenation (PDH) technology by Honeywell UOP (US), a global leader for petroleum refining, gas processing, and petrochemical production, and PP technology by LyondellBasell, an Italian company that produces plastics and chemicals.

PP Producers in Vietnam

Stavian Chemical is the most significant distributor of polymers in Vietnam. It is headquartered in Hanoi, and its new facility will be a three hour drive (northeast) from it. The company operates in many regions, including China, South Korea, Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines, and Ho Chi Minh City.

Besides Stavian, other producers of polymers in Vietnam include South Korea’s Hyosung, Nghi Son Refinery and Petrochemical, and Binh Son Refining and Petrochemical.
