Texas New Materials Inc., a Texas-based manufacturer of specialty polymers, has announced plans to construct a new polyacrylamide production facility in Big Spring, Texas. The 200,000-metric-ton-per-year plant, set to begin operations by late 2026, represents a major step in strengthening the supply chain for this critical polymer. Polyacrylamide is widely used in essential industries such as water treatment, oil and gas, and mining. NNA Polymers will serve as the channel to market for the products from this world-scale facility.

A defining feature of the new plant is its fully integrated monomer supply chain, which distinguishes it from producers dependent on third-party materials. This vertical integration is designed to ensure security of supply during market disruptions, provide cost competitiveness by reducing exposure to external pricing, and enable enhanced quality control through advanced processing technologies. This approach guarantees greater reliability and consistency in production.

The location in Big Spring was strategically chosen for its robust logistics infrastructure, proximity to key customers, and access to ample energy and raw materials. This site will function as a regional hub for supplying polyacrylamide across North America, helping to bolster domestic production capacity and reduce reliance on imports. Furthermore, the facility will incorporate advanced process technologies specifically selected to lower its environmental impact and improve overall production efficiency.

Through this new facility, both NNA Polymers and Texas New Materials reaffirm their commitment to delivering high-performance and sustainable polymer solutions. This project is positioned to support the long-term goals of their customers and various industry stakeholders by providing a more secure, reliable, and domestically sourced supply of this essential industrial polymer.
