The logP (octanol-water partition coefficient) is around 3.5 to 5.3, indicating moderate lipophilicity. Deoxycholic acid functions biologically as a bile acid involved in the emulsification of dietary fats and is chemically stable under normal storage, but incompatible with strong oxidisers.
