How to Order Your Report?

Product Overview

The report provides a detailed analysis essential for establishing a Nickel Acetate production plant. It encompasses all critical aspects necessary for Nickel Acetate production, including the cost of Nickel Acetate production, Nickel Acetate plant cost, Nickel Acetate production costs, and the overall Nickel Acetate production plant cost. Additionally, the study covers specific expenditures associated with setting up and operating a Nickel Acetate production plant. These encompass production processes, raw material requirements, utility requirements, infrastructure needs, machinery and technology requirements, manpower requirements, packaging requirements, transportation requirements, and more.

Nickel Acetate is an inorganic compound with a broad range of applications in the metal industry. The compound is extensively used as a sealing agent in electroplating to promote the durability of the nickel-based coating. It also finds its application a mordant to help in fixing dyes to fabrics. It is also used as a catalyst in the synthesis of various nickel-based chemicals, such as complex polymers and other specialty chemicals. It is often used in the preparation of polynuclear nickel polyoxotungstate cluster compounds for production molecular magnets. It is also used as a component in seal coatings of anodized aluminum to enhance its mechanical properties.

The market for Nickel Acetate is majorly driven by its application in the chemical and textile industry, which promotes its demand. Its usage in electroplating processes further enhances its demand in the metal finishing industry. Its application as a sealing agent in coating various automotive components to enhance corrosion resistance largely fuels its demand in the automotive industry. Its application in seal coatings of anodized aluminum also highlights its demand in the aerospace, construction, and architecture industries. Its involvement in production molecular magnets further drives its demand in the advanced materials and chemical production industry. In general, the cost and the availability of raw materials (acetic acid, etc.), their application in the textiles industry, distribution, logistics, and quality standards are some factors that influence industrial Nickel Acetate procurement to a large extent.

Raw Material for Nickel Acetate Production

According to the Nickel Acetate production plant project report, the major raw materials for Nickel Acetate production include Nickel Carbonate-Acetic Acid.

Production Process of Nickel Acetate

The extensive Nickel Acetate production cost report consists of the following industrial production process:

  • Production from Nickel Carbonate: In this method, nickel acetate is produced by using nickel or nickel(II) carbonate and acetic acid as the starting material. The synthesis begins with the reaction of nickel carbonate with acetic acid, which results in the formation of nickel acetate as the final product.

Nickel Acetate is a greenish solid compound with the chemical formula Ni(CH3COO)2. Its molecular weight is 176.78 g/mol. This crystalline solid possesses a characteristic odor similar to acetic acid and forms green monoclinic crystals. Its melting point, rather than boiling point, is measured at around 249-250 °C (tetrahydrate), where it decomposes. The density of Nickel Acetate is approximately 1.744 g/cm³ at 25 °C. This compound is soluble in water and can also dissolve in organic solvents like acetic acid, though it is poorly soluble in alcohols. It is hygroscopic and decomposes upon heating at higher temperatures, potentially releasing hazardous nickel compounds. Upon heating to around 250 °C, it loses its water of crystallization and decomposes while releasing nickel oxides. Nickel Acetate is toxic and can cause skin and eye irritation upon direct exposure. It is classified as a human carcinogen and is poisonous if ingested. It remains stable at room temperature but can react with various chemicals to produce derivatives used in several applications.
