INOX Air Products Private Limited (INOXAP) has signed a long-term agreement with TACC Limited to supply nitrogen to support a new greenfield facility in Dewas, Madhya Pradesh. This facility will focus on producing lithium-ion battery-grade graphite anode material, an essential component for electric vehicles (EVs) and energy storage systems. The deal specifies that INOXAP will design, build, own, and operate a dedicated onsite nitrogen plant at TACC's manufacturing site. This arrangement ensures a consistent supply of high-purity nitrogen, meeting the facility's specific process requirements.
The production of battery-grade graphite anodes necessitates highly controlled environments, where gas purity plays a critical role in maintaining the quality and efficiency of the product. By having an onsite nitrogen plant, TACC can secure a stable gas supply, reduce logistical risks, and enhance process control during large-scale production. This strategic infrastructure investment will ensure that the production of synthetic graphite anode materials is not only efficient but also meets the stringent global manufacturing standards required for advanced materials used in EVs and energy storage.

TACC is at the forefront of developing synthetic graphite anode materials for lithium-ion batteries, as well as exploring graphene-based derivatives for various industrial applications, including construction, textiles, and paints. For the company, access to reliable industrial gases is a key factor in maintaining high manufacturing standards across these advanced materials segments. For INOXAP, the project expands its presence in providing specialized industrial gas solutions tailored to advanced manufacturing processes. The build-own-operate model provides INOXAP with full control over plant management, ensuring safety, compliance, and a long-term, stable supply of nitrogen for TACC’s critical operations.
This partnership aligns with India’s growing ambitions in the electric mobility sector and the production of clean energy technologies. With domestic production of lithium-ion battery materials becoming a key focus, the collaboration between INOXAP and TACC reduces India’s reliance on imports in the EV supply chain. It contributes to the development of a robust, self-sufficient materials ecosystem within India, supporting the broader push to scale electric vehicle manufacturing and energy storage infrastructure. As the demand for EVs and large-scale grid storage continues to rise, such partnerships are expected to play a vital role in enhancing capacity within the battery production value chain.
