Lysine Production Cost Analysis 2021
Lysine is an a-amino acid that is utilised in the biosynthesis of proteins. It is made up of an a-amino group that is in the protonated -NH3+ form under biological conditions, an a-carboxylic acid group that is in the deprotonated -COO- form under biological conditions, and a side chain lysyl or (CH2)4NH2, which classifies it as a basic, charged, aliphatic amino acid. Just like almost all other amino acids, the a-carbon is chiral. Thus, lysine can refer to enantiomer as well as a racemic mixture of both.
The human body cannot manufacture lysine. It is a crucial compound for humans and must be obtained through diet. It has two main biosynthetic pathways in organisms that synthesise lysine- the diaminopimelate or a-aminoadipate pathways that employ different enzymes and substrates and are found in several organisms. Lysine catabolism occurs using one of the several pathways, with the most widely used one being the saccharopine pathway.
Lysine plays numerous roles in humans, most importantly as proteinogenesis. It also helps in the crosslinking of collagen polypeptides, uptake of several mineral nutrients, and in the manufacturing of carnitine, which is crucial in the metabolism of fatty acid. It is also involved in histone modifications, and therefore, it impacts the epigenome.
Procurement Resource provides an in-depth cost analysis of Purified Lysine production. The report incorporates the manufacturing process with detailed process and material flow, capital investment, operating costs along with financial expenses and depreciation charges. The study is based on the latest prices and other economic data available. We also offer additional analysis of the report with detailed breakdown of all cost components (Capital Investment Details, Production Cost Details, Economics for another Plant Location, Dynamic Cost Model).
