Asia
Synthetic Anethole prices in Asia witnessed a mixed pattern during Q4’25. At the beginning of the quarter, prices were under downward pressure as the overall sentiment in the petrochemical as well as LPG markets was weak. The decline in energy prices and feedstock prices resulted in a decrease in production costs. Although the overall demand from the flavor, fragrance, and pharmaceutical industries was moderate, as the prices were under pressure, buyers were only consuming as per their requirements. However, as the quarter moved towards the end of Q4’25, the overall sentiment in the Asian markets improved as the regional trade sentiment as well as the overall demand from China also improved. The feedstock prices were steady, but the overall inventories in the Asian markets were high.
Europe
The Synthetic Anethole prices in Europe had a weak to stable trend in Q4’25. This was because the market was impacted due to the high amount of petrochemical feedstocks and comfortable supply in the region. There was less industrial activity in the region, which impacted the food flavouring and personal care industry. Moreover, the uncertainty in the global market and competitive import offers further impacted the regional market. Even though the energy markets showed some signs of recovery in the latter part of the quarter, this had no significant impact on the prices of specialty chemicals in the region. At the end of the quarter, the prices had some signs of recovery but were lower than the initial expectations due to the balanced supply and consumption in the region.
North America
In North America, Synthetic Anethole prices were steady but were under pressure to go down during Q4’25. Fluctuations in domestic propane and energy markets impacted prices; however, strong overall inventory levels eased concerns of supply issues. Some of the price movements were more related to technical trading than actual fundamental changes. Exports to Asia were also mixed, especially considering the slowdown of demand from the region. Domestic demand from the food processing and fragrance industries was steady but not strong enough to propel prices significantly upward. Hence, the market was steady and traded within a narrow band.
